Payouts
When pros in your network complete jobs, you earn 80% of the job tier fee. This page explains how payouts work, how to set up your account to receive them, and how to track your earnings.
Payouts are processed through Stripe Connect, a secure payment platform that handles identity verification and deposits funds directly to your bank account.
How Payouts Work
Here's what happens from job acceptance to money in your bank account:
- Pro accepts a job from your network
- Authorization hold is placed on the pro's payment method for the job tier fee
- 7-day hold period begins (the pro can mark the job as lost during this time)
- Payment captured automatically after 7 days
- 80% transferred to your Stripe Connect account instantly
- Bank deposit arrives according to your Stripe payout schedule (typically 2-3 business days)
Setting Up Payouts
To receive payouts, you need to complete Stripe Connect onboarding. This is a one-time setup process.
Starting the Setup
- Go to Settings in your dashboard, or
- Complete Step 4 during initial onboarding
Click Set Up Stripe Connect to begin. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding flow.
What You'll Need
During Stripe's onboarding, you'll provide:
- Identity verification — Government ID and personal information
- Business information — Your business type, address, and tax details
- Bank account — Account and routing numbers for receiving deposits
Stripe handles all verification securely. Trusted Bench never sees or stores your banking details.
Onboarding States
Your account will be in one of three states:
| State | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Not Started | You haven't begun Stripe Connect setup yet |
| Verification in Progress | Stripe is reviewing your information (usually takes minutes) |
| Verified | Your account is active and ready to receive payouts |
You can continue using Trusted Bench while verification is in progress. Once verified, payouts will be deposited automatically when jobs complete.
Payout Amounts
When a payment is captured, it's split between you and the platform:
- 80% goes to you (the referrer/owner)
- 20% goes to Trusted Bench (platform fee)
Payout by Job Tier
| Tier | Job Fee | Your Payout (80%) |
|---|---|---|
| Small | $50 | $40 |
| Medium | $100 | $80 |
| Large | $300 | $240 |
| Extra Large | $1,000 | $800 |
| Supersize | $10,000 | $8,000 |
The job tier is assigned when the job is created based on the scope of work.
Payout Timing
Understanding when you'll receive funds:
The 7-Day Hold
When a pro accepts a job, funds are authorized (held) on their card but not charged immediately. This 7-day window:
- Gives time to confirm the job is progressing
- Allows the pro to mark the job as lost if the client cancels
- Protects all parties from premature charges
After Capture
Once the 7-day hold ends and payment is captured:
- Instant transfer — Your 80% is transferred to your Stripe Connect account immediately
- Bank payout — Stripe deposits funds to your bank account on your payout schedule
Stripe Payout Schedule
By default, Stripe sends payouts daily (for most countries). You can adjust this in your Stripe dashboard to:
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
Actual deposit time depends on your bank but is typically 2-3 business days after the payout is initiated.
Tracking Your Payouts
Your Referrals dashboard shows all your payout activity.
Key Metrics
Total Earned — The sum of all captured payouts. This is your all-time earnings from referrals.
Pending Payouts — The sum of authorized holds that haven't been captured yet. These represent jobs where a pro has accepted but the 7-day period hasn't completed.
Active Referrals — The count of jobs currently in progress, including jobs that are routing, matched, or being worked on.
Payment Status
Each referral in the Recent Activity table shows its payment status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Routing | Job is being offered to pros, no hold yet |
| Authorized | Pro accepted, funds held, 7-day period active |
| Captured | Payment collected, payout sent to your account |
| Released | Hold cancelled (job lost, cancelled, or declined) |
Managing Your Stripe Account
After setup, you can manage your account through Stripe's dashboard.
Accessing Your Dashboard
From your Trusted Bench settings, click View Stripe Dashboard (when available) to access:
- Transaction history
- Payout records
- Bank account settings
- Tax documents (1099s for US users)
Updating Bank Information
To change your bank account:
- Access your Stripe dashboard
- Go to Settings → Bank accounts and scheduling
- Add a new bank account
- Set it as your default payout destination
Changing Payout Frequency
In your Stripe dashboard under Settings → Bank accounts and scheduling, you can choose how often Stripe sends payouts to your bank.
When Payouts Don't Happen
In some cases, the authorization hold is released instead of captured. When this happens, no fees are charged and no payout is generated.
Holds are released when:
- Job marked as lost — The pro reported the job didn't convert
- Job cancelled — You cancelled the job before completion
- Pro declined — You declined the pro's acceptance
This protects pros from paying for jobs that don't work out, and means you only earn when jobs successfully complete.

FAQ
How long until I receive my payout?
After a pro accepts a job, there's a 7-day hold period. Once captured, funds transfer instantly to your Stripe account, then deposit to your bank in 2-3 business days. Total time: approximately 9-10 days from job acceptance.
What if I need to change my bank account?
You can update your bank account anytime through your Stripe dashboard. New payouts will go to the updated account. Past payouts already initiated will complete to the original account.
Can I see detailed transaction history?
Yes. Your Stripe dashboard shows complete transaction history including every payout, the jobs they came from, and deposit confirmations.
What currency are payouts in?
All payouts are in USD. If your bank account is in a different currency, Stripe will convert at current exchange rates (fees may apply).
Are there any fees on my payouts?
The 80/20 split is the only fee. Trusted Bench takes 20% of each job tier fee as the platform fee. Stripe does not charge additional fees for Connect payouts in most cases.
What happens if I haven't completed Stripe Connect setup?
Jobs can still be routed and accepted by pros in your network. However, the 80% payout will be held until you complete Stripe Connect onboarding. Once verified, any pending payouts will be released to your account.
What if a pro's payment fails?
If a pro's card is declined during the authorization hold, they cannot accept the job. The job continues routing to the next pro. You're never affected by a pro's payment issues.
Do I need to do anything after a job completes?
No. The entire process is automatic. After 7 days, payment is captured, your 80% is transferred, and Stripe deposits it to your bank on schedule.
