Distribution Strategy
Your distribution strategy determines how Trusted Bench prioritizes which pros receive job offers first when a lead comes in. Choose a strategy that aligns with how you want to reward and utilize your network.
The Four Strategies
Even Distribution (Round Robin)
Leads are distributed fairly across all eligible pros using a randomized rotation. Each pro gets an equal chance at jobs over time, regardless of their rating or tenure.
Best for:
- Networks where you want to maintain balanced relationships with all pros
- Avoiding over-reliance on a few top performers
- New networks where you're still evaluating pro performance
Rating Weighted
Pros with higher ratings are contacted first. Your best-performing pros get first crack at every job.
Best for:
- Prioritizing quality and client satisfaction
- Networks with clear performance tiers
- High-stakes jobs where you want your A-team
Tenure Based
Pros who have been on your bench the longest are contacted first. This rewards loyalty and long-standing relationships.
Best for:
- Rewarding loyalty in your network
- Established networks with trusted veterans
- Building long-term pro relationships
Distance (Nearest First)
Pros closest to the job location are contacted first. This optimizes for response time and reduces travel costs for your pros.
Best for:
- Urgent or emergency jobs
- Minimizing pro travel time and costs
- Geographic coverage optimization
How It Works
When a job comes in, Trusted Bench follows this process:
- Filter your bench - Only pros who match the job's trade and are within 50 miles of the job location are considered
- Apply your strategy - Eligible pros are sorted based on your distribution strategy
- Limit to bench depth - Only the top N pros (based on your bench depth setting) are included in the routing plan
- Sequential offers - Each pro receives the job offer one at a time, with a timeout based on your hop duration setting
- First to accept wins - The first pro to accept the job is assigned and the remaining pros are skipped
Choosing the Right Strategy
| If you want to... | Choose... |
|---|---|
| Keep all pros equally engaged | Even Distribution |
| Maximize job quality | Rating Weighted |
| Reward long-term relationships | Tenure Based |
| Optimize for speed and proximity | Distance |
You can change your distribution strategy at any time in Settings > Matching Workflow. The new strategy applies to all future jobs.
Related Settings
Distribution strategy works together with other workflow settings:
- Bench Depth - How many pros to include in the routing plan
- Hop Duration - How long to wait for each pro to respond before moving to the next
- Overflow Logic - What happens if no one in your bench accepts the job
FAQ
Does changing my strategy affect jobs already in progress?
No. Each job snapshots your workflow settings when it starts routing. Changing your strategy only affects new jobs.
What if two pros have the same rating/tenure/distance?
Ties are broken randomly to ensure fairness.
Can I use different strategies for different trades?
Not currently. Your distribution strategy applies to all job types. This feature may be added in the future.
